Appearance

Adult : Slow crawling, dark-brown long cylindrical body with many legs, 25-100mm long.

Life Cycle

Found in dark, damp locations with abundant organic matter (food). When disturbed, they curl up into “C” shape, remaining motionless. Usually found if there is a garden or plants in the house - especially in balconies or verandahs under pots etc. May infest basements and other damp, dark areas in the house. They cause no harm apart from emitting a foul smelling fluid, but can be confused with centipedes.Found in dark, damp locations with abundant organic matter (food).
